Machinery to be rented

  • Teams will assess the level of silt in drains, ensure desilting and de-clogging of road gullies and water chutes, inspect flood-prone areas and execute repair work of manholes
  • Additionally, adequate machinery such as tractors, suction tankers and JCBs would be rented and bought on time for resolution of any drainage related issue

The authorities state that the work of desilting approximately 2km drain would be completed prior to the monsoon season. The work, which would be executed at a cost of Rs 1.05 crore, aims to curb the risk of any potential waterlogging on this stretch during the rainy season.

The GMDA has already completed the desilting of the drain along Good Earth Mall. Now, desilting of the drain from Sispal Vihar towards Tikri village along Sohna Road will be carried out by the authority.

After the work was approved in its 68th CPC Meeting, the GMDA has now floated the tender in this regard. Officials concerned will also inspect the work through CCTVs to ensure that the drains are free of silt.

The GMDA has also floated the tender to enrol an agency for day to day maintenance of the drainage in the city and to prevent accumulation of silt over time. Under this, patrolling teams will be deployed for regular inspection of storm water drains.

The teams will survey silt levels in drains, ensure desilting and de-clogging of road gullies and water chutes, inspect flood-prone areas and execute repair work of manholes.

Additionally, adequate machinery such as tractors, suction tankers and JCBs would be rented and bought on time for resolution of any drainage related issue at the earliest. This work will be carried out at a cost of Rs 90.39 lakh.

The GMDA has also floated tenders for desilting approximately 22-km surface drain in Old Gurugram.
