Kurukshetra: Technology Education and Research Integrated Institutions (TERII) celebrated its 14th foundation day here on Sunday. Chief advisor to the institute, MP Gupta, in his address, said, “Although 13 years is not a long time for an institution to build an image but in these years TERII has succeeded in establishing a satisfactory foundation.” Director Sagar Gulati said recently the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises had awarded TERII with a title of ‘Host Institute’, under which students and teachers of the institute can be awarded a grant up to Rs 1 crore for any innovative idea.

Capacity building workshop

Ambala: A one-day capacity building workshop was organised at DAV Senior Secondary School, Ambala City. Over 500 teachers from different DAV institutions participated in the programme and gave suggestions to enhance Quality Point Index. Vikas Kohli, ARO and Principal, Police DAV Public School, was the chief guest. RR Suri, Principal of DAV Senior Secondary school, was the host of the event. He said the purpose of such workshops was to update teachers with latest teaching methodologies.

Himanshu Shekhar IAP joint secy

Yamunanagar: Himanshu Shekhar, principal TDTR DAV Institute of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Yamunanagar, was elected joint secretary of the Indian Association of Physiotherapist (IAP) Haryana. Shekhar said the IAP 2020-2023 election results were recently declared at Greater Noida. He said in these elections around 200 people contested from across the country. He said he, along with Dr Kapil Mago from Gurugram, was elected as joint secretary. Dr Uday Yadav from Gurugram was elected president and Dr Vinod Kaushik from Faridabad vice-president.

District Youth Red Cross camp held

Sonepat: A district Youth Red Cross camp was organised at the DCR University of Science and Technology, Murthal. Vice-Chancellor Rajendra Kumar Anayat on Wednesday said there was no greater virtue than social service and appreciated the selfless services of Red Cross volunteers/employees. He said the Indian Red Cross Society was formed under a Parliamentary Act in 1920 and since then its employees have been serving the society selflessly in a variety of situations like earthquakes, storms and natural disasters. District Red Cross Society Secretary Saroj Bala said 41 students from seven colleges were participating in the camp.

JC Bose varsity gets interactive boards

Faridabad: The JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, has introduced digital interactive boards in classrooms to make the learning-teaching process more interactive. The university has set-up 13 digital classrooms equipped with interactive boards in various departments. “The university is the first in the state to introduce digital interactive boards,” said a spokesperson. Vice-Chancellor Dinesh Kumar inaugurated the digital classrooms equipped with LED IR touch boards and said a training-cum-demonstration session on the use of these digital interactive boards was also conducted. These boards have been provided by the National Project Implementation Unit under the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
