Despite a number of steps being taken by the district administration, theft of mining minerals and its illegal transportation allegedly continues unabated in Yamunanagar district. Vehicles carrying mining minerals are checked at check posts set up at different places in the district. Several teams of the district administration keep a strict vigil on areas, where cases of illegal excavation of mining minerals are reported. Besides, officials of the Mines and Geology Department check stock of minerals stored at stone crushers and screening plants to stop illegal mining. Despite making so many efforts, the administration has been unable to fully control the mining mafia. As per available information, the mining mafia does not hesitate in attacking teams of the local administration, including the police.
