There will be no shortage of fertilisers, CM assures farmers
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the government would not let there be any shortage of fertilisers for crops. He directed officials to immediately make urea available at all Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) across the state.
The Chief Minister today took suo motu cognisance of the news related to shortage of urea and DAP in the media and directed the officials of the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department to make adequate fertilisers available in all districts, so that the production of crops was not affected.
Following the orders of the CM, the department officials said an adequate quantity of fertilisers was available in the state. Urea fertiliser was also being made available in all PACS as per the increased need of the farmers. Apart from this, IFFCO and KRIBHCO managers had also been instructed to provide urea as per demand.
The CM said the interest of farmers was paramount for him and the government was making efforts to get them fair prices for everything — from fertilisers and seeds to crops.
He said Haryana was the first state where all crops were purchased at MSP. "We have given the farmers the facility to make e-gate pass from home through e-kharid application to sell their crops in the market," he added.
Saini reiterated the commitment of the government in the interest of farmers and said he was a farmer, so he understood their needs.
