Three arrested for ‘murdering’ Class XI student in Panipat
The CIA-2 unit of the district police arrested three persons from near NFL naka in the city for allegedly murdering a Class XI student at Khatik Basti here.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Faisal of Jagjiwan Ram colony, Saurabh and Sahabuddin alias Sameer of Khatik Basti.
Taking a stringent note of the student’s murder, Superintendent of Police Lokender Singh handed over the investigation of the case to the CIA-2 unit. After getting a tipoff the team succeeded in arresting three accused in the murder case on Thursday evening.
Inspector Phool Kumar, in-charge, CIA-2 unit, said during the preliminary investigation, the three accused admitted that they along with more associates had murdered Rishabh, the deceased, after they had an altercation with him.
The accused also revealed during the interrogation that they had an argument with Rishabh regarding riding a bike at a high speed at Khatik Basti, which further led to an altercation, he said.
Inspector Phool Kumar said all three accused were produced in the court on Friday and the court sent them on five days police remand.
Notably, Rishabh, a resident of RK Puram Colony, had some feud with some youths near Shani temple near the old Sugar mill. After that he along with his friend Krish reached Khatik Basti where some youths attacked them. One of them attacked Rishabh with sharp-edged weapon. After that the assailants ran away from the spot. His friends took him to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The industrial Sector 29 police have registered a case against the accused on the complaint of his friend.
