The Bhiwani police have arrested three accused in connection with the recent firing incident that occurred on the court premises in Bhiwani town. One of the arrested accused was hit in the leg in retaliatory firing when he tried to flee by opening fire at the police.

DSP Anup Kumar said two accused, Monu and Naveen, were arrested from Tosham bypass in Bhiwani, while another accused, Rohit, was caught from Karnouli village in Fatehabad district. The CIA staff of Bhiwani made the breakthrough.

The firing incident occurred on September 4 when some people from Dinod village had come to the Bhiwani court for a hearing in the case. Around lunchtime, they were having tea near the lawyers’ chambers when three unidentified persons opened fire on them. In the attack, Lovjeet, a resident of Mokhra village in Rohtak, was injured. The assailants fled from the spot. SP Sumit Kumar formed the teams and launched a search operation to identify and arrest the accused.

DSP Anup Kumar said during the investigation, Sub-Inspector Anand Kumar and his team arrested Monu and Naveen, who were involved in planning and conducting a recce for the attack. Monu already has cases of assault and robbery registered against him in the police.

He said Inspector Ravinder Kumar and his team arrested Rohit who also fired at the police team. In retaliatory firing, he was shot in the leg. He was taken to Fatehabad Civil Hospital and later referred to Agroha Medical College for treatment. An illegal weapon was also recovered from the spot.
