Three dairy owners fined for dumping cow dung into drains in Rohtak

Despite repeated warnings, some dairy owners in Rohtak continue to discharge dung into the city’s drainage system, leading to severe blockages and public inconvenience. In response, the Municipal Corporation (MC) authorities have taken strict action and issued fines to violators. A team from the MC conducted inspections on Saturday and fined three dairy owners Rs 30,000 in total for violating sanitation norms.

Municipal Commissioner Anand Kumar Sharma stated that multiple complaints had been received about unhygienic conditions on Mal Godam Road, where dung was being dumped into drains and sewers. He said the dairy owners were repeatedly urged to refrain from such practices as it led to clogged drains, overflowing sewers and serious public health hazards.

“Some dairy operators are still flouting the rules despite clear warnings. The negligence causes major inconvenience to residents and puts unnecessary pressure on the city’s sanitation infrastructure,” Sharma added.

The Commissioner also instructed sanitation teams to carry out regular inspections and take strict action against anyone polluting drains or public spaces.

Sharma added that the ongoing work to clean city drains continueed at various locations. On Saturday, cleaning operations were carried out at Mal Godam Road, Shivaji Colony, Dungi Gohri, Sunariya Chowk to Bhiwani Chungi, and Kaccha Beri Road.

The inspection team included Chief Sanitation Inspector Sachin, Assistant Inspectors Narendra, Sumit Phogat, Krishan Lal, Sushil, and municipal advisors Arvind Bhatia and Salil Mehta.

The MC authorities have reiterated its commitment to keeping the city clean and warned that further violations would attract even stricter penalties.
