The district administration has started the preparation for the fair and a joint meeting of all departments was held on Tuesday to ensure that the departments work in coordination and the preparations are completed in time.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) took feedback about the preparations made for the fair and issued directions.

Pehowa Subdivisional Magistrate (SDM)-cum-fair administrator Kapil Kumar presented a detailed report and said, “The Public Health And Engineering Department has been directed to ensure water facility and install temporary toilets and the Irrigation Department to drain out the water from pond at Saraswati Tirtha and fill fresh water. Directions have been issued to the officials of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN), Health Department, Municipal Committee, Pehowa, Food and Civil Supplies Department, Transport Department, Fire Department, Municipal Committee, Tehsildar, Kurukshetra Development Board and the Police Department and other departments.”

“It has also been decided to place a suggestion box at the fair to get suggestions from the devotees and the same will be implemented in the coming years to improve the arrangements”, the SDM informed.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Nirmal Singh said the fair area would be divided into eight sectors. To maintain security, police check posts will also be established on Ambala Road, Guhla-Pehowa Road, Kaithal Road, Galerva Road and Kurukshetra Road.

“The complete checking will be done at one place so that the devotees are not stopped for checking repeatedly. Ensuring the safety of the devotees is the top priority and ample police force will be deployed so that no untoward incidents take place,” the DSP said.

ADC Sonu Bhatt said, “A meeting has been held with the officials of all departments concerned and directions have been issued to ensure that all arrangements are made in time. The officials have been directed to work in better coordination to make the fair successful. Directions have been issued to check the CCTV cameras and ensure that these are in working condition and the defunct cameras are replaced. The CCTV cameras must be installed in the parking areas too so that the vehicles are not stolen.”

“It will be ensured that no one faces any inconvenience. Ample security arrangements will be made for the devotees. Duty Magistrates and sector supervisors will maintain sanitation, electricity and other arrangements,” he added.
