Three-day cultural youth festival concludes at Murthal university

The three-day cultural youth festival ‘Rhythm-2025’ concluded with great pomp and enthusiasm on Monday at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST), Murthal.

The festival emerged as a vibrant confluence of art, music, dance, literature and youthful energy, filling the campus with festive colour and spirit. Students from various university departments and affiliated colleges participated in large numbers, showcasing their creative talents. Vice Chancellor Prof Shree Prakash Singh presented awards to the winners.

Addressing the students, Prof Singh said the youth festival was “a symbol of the cultural richness, creative thinking and social engagement of our university”. He added that such events strengthened leadership qualities, self-confidence and a spirit of participation among students.

“I heartily congratulate all the participants and organisers for the successful event. Our university will always prioritise the all-round development of students,” he said.

Students actively took part in a wide array of cultural competitions, including group dance, folk dance, ghazal singing, classical and western music, street plays, mime acts, debates, poetry recitation, photography, sketching, poster-making and other fine arts. The enthusiastic applause from the audience further boosted the morale of the performers.

The most anticipated highlight of ‘Rhythm-2025’ was the Star Night, which transformed the campus into a grand spectacle of lights, music and youthful exuberance. Aman Jaji opened the evening with spirited renditions, followed by Shivam Vaswani, whose melodious voice left a captivating impact on the audience.

UK Haryanvi, a noted Haryanvi music artist, stirred the atmosphere with high-energy performances. This was followed by Pahari musician Mannu Pahadi, whose melodious singing added to the evening’s charm. The Sihag music team kept the crowd dancing late into the night with lively DJ tracks.

Registrar Dr Ajay Garg, Dean of Student Welfare Prof Suresh Verma, Rhythm Coordinator Dr Aarti Deveshwar, Dr Rajendra Malik, along with Deans of various faculties and Heads of Departments, were present on the occasion.
