Three-day Indo-Israel centre training on nursery management begins in Kurukshetra
A three-day Indo-Israel training programme on Nursery Management in Orchards started at the Indo-Israel Centre of excellence for sub-tropical fruits (CSTF) in Ladwa on Wednesday.
As per the information, nearly 30 representatives from 12 states have reached Kurukshetra to attend the training programme.
The Additional Director, Horticulture Department, Haryana, Dharam Singh Yadav, Sara Olga Yanovsky, domestic political adviser, Embassy of Israel, Project Officer, MASHAV, Embassy of Israel Bhihama Dev, section officer of the mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture Surendra Singh Gurjar and several other officials from the state participated in the event on Wednesday.
The Deputy Director, Horticulture, CSTF Dr Rakesh Kumar, said the centre situated in Kurukshetra was established in 2016 and apprised the officials about the functioning and achievements of the centre.
The centre demonstrates a variety of fruits including mango, peach, pear, plum, sapota, litchi, apple, persimmon, olive, pomegranate and guava.
Dr Shivendu, subject matter specialist at the Indo-Israel centre, said, “It is an ambitious project of the Horticulture Department, which since its establishment has been helping farmers. Various training programmes are organised at the centre.
During the three-day training programme, the participants will be given hands on training on nursery management (grafting and budding), nursery management training in orchard, fertigation management, canopy management in sub-tropical fruit crops, farmers’ field visits, site visit of natural farming in fruit crops, nematode management in nursery and irrigation management.
