Three get RI for life for murdering man

A fast-track court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Salender Singh on Thursday awarded rigorous imprisonment (RI) for life to three for murdering a person in Sonepat in 2019.

The court has imposed a fine of Rs 36,000 on the convict Surya and imposed Rs 33,000 fine on two convicts —Sachin and Vijay.

The matter was reported to the police on October 22, 2019. Pawan of Dhanak Basti in his complaint to the police said bricks were kept on the roof and neighbour Poonam picked them up without asking them on October 20. They stopped her from doing so.

The accused gathered in the street and attacked him and his brother Manoj, father, mother with sharp-edged weapons and rods. The neighbours admitted them to the general hospital, but Manoj succumbed to his injuries.
