Yamunanagar, February 29
The police have arrested three persons who were involved in 13 cases of stealing electric motors from tubewells.
Rajesh Rana, in charge, Special Cell, Yamunanagar Police, said on a tip-off, a team of the Special Cell arrested three persons from Alahar village of the district. He said the accused have been identified as Mehandi Hussan, Irfaan and Aadil, all residents of Navab Colony, Yamunanagar.
He said the accused worked at brick-kilns during the daytime and stole electric motors from the tubewells of farmers during the night.
He said during interrogation it was found that the accused were involved in 13 cases of stealing electric motors from the tubewells.
“The accused had been stealing electric motors from the tubewells for the past one year,” said Rana. Chamkaur Singh, police spokesman, said after the completion of one-day police remand, the accused were today produced before a court from where they were again sent to one-day police custody.
