Three held for stealing wires from farm-fields, sent to judicial custody
In a major breakthrough, the anti-vehicle theft staff has busted a gang allegedly involved in stealing wires and other equipment from fields. Three accused have been arrested and sent to judicial custody after being taken on three-day police remand.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to carrying out 41 theft incidents across Kaithal district, which were linked to 10 FIRs registered at different police stations. The police have also recovered 37.610 kg of stolen wire and a motorcycle used in the crimes.
DSP (Hqs) Bir Bhan said Jai Bhagwan, a resident of Guhna, filed a complaint that on the night of August 13-14, 2025, unidentified persons broke the lock of his farm store and stole about 40 ft of submersible wire and a hookah set. Based on his complaint, a case was registered at the Sadar police station.
Acting on the directions of SP Astha Modi, a police team led by Sub-inspector SI Pradeep Kumar along with SI Jai Bhagwan, HC Anil and home guard Vikas arrested three accused — Sandeep, Sultan, alias Bhola, and Saleem, alias Diva, residents of Padla Road, Kaithal. They were taken on three days police remand.
Investigations revealed that the accused used to conduct recce of targeted areas during the day and commit thefts at night. They admitted to their involvement in thefts across multiple police station areas –four cases under Sadar, three under Siwan, two under Kalayat, and one under Rajound police station limits, the DSP said. The DSP confirmed that all three were sent to judicial custody as per the court orders.
