Three in police net for murder of financier, wife in Ambala
The Ambala police have arrested three men in connection with the double murder case of Ambala City in which a financier and his wife were found dead in their house under mysterious circumstances last week.
The accused have been identified as Devesh, Sahil, alias Manni, and Sunil Kumar, residents of Ambala City. While Devesh, who runs a gym in Ambala, was arrested from Ambala, Sunil was arrested from Vrindavan, and Sahil was arrested from the Nepal border. They were produced in a court today which sent them to four-day police remand.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Srishti Gupta, said on August 29, Sanjay, a financier, and his wife Parul were found dead in their house. A case was registered at the Ambala City police station and the investigation was handed over to the CIA-1 unit. Devesh had animosity against Sanjay over some old dispute involving Devesh’s family member and Sanjay, and he lured Sunil and Sahil to help him in eliminating Sanjay on the promise of giving them money.
“The accused entered Sanjay’s house on the pretext of taking the first floor on rent. As potential tenants, the accused visited the house as part of recce and on the night of August 28, the accused again went to Sanjay’s house on the pretext of giving them security deposit. It helped the accused in getting a friendly entry into the house, and then they killed the couple. Devesh had strangulated Sanjay and then also used a knife to stab him to ensure that he died, while the other two accused used a wire of a press to strangulate Parul,” she said.
“After the murders, the accused managed to flee with some cash, ornaments and mobile. During their confession, Devesh and other two accused shared several details and the same will be verified during the remand and the recoveries will be made. The exact reason behind the enmity between Devesh and Sanjay will be clear during the remand. Their previous records are being checked. The CIA-1 and the technical experts have done a good job in this case as they brought the accused from Vrindavan and the Nepal border,” the ASP added.
The double murder came to light after a relative reached their house as they were not responding to phone calls. After finding the door closed, the relative entered the house after climbing the gate and found the two bodies in separate rooms.
