A two-storey house collapsed due to heavy rain and accumulation of rainwater in Bibipur village of Nuh district on Monday morning. A woman and her two children got buried under the debris and were injured in the incident. All the injured were admitted to a hospital where the condition of woman’s five-year-old son was stated to be critical.
According to the police, the incident took place around 7 am on Monday when Sekuni along with her seven-year-old daughter identified as Sana and five-year-old son identified as Abuzar were sleeping in a room on the upper floor of their house in Bibipur village.
After getting information, nearby villagers and the police reached the spot. After a lot of efforts, they managed to take out the three injured who were buried underneath debris. Abuzar was admitted to the Nalhar Medical College due to serious injuries while the woman and her daughter were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
“It was around 7 am today when we came to know that a house had collapsed in the village. We rushed to the spot and found Sekuni and her children buried under debris of the house. Villagers immediately removed debris and saved the injured,” said Imran Khan, a villager.
Villagers said rainwater had accumulated behind Sekuni’s house. Due to continuous rain, the wall of the house collapsed first. Soon after, the whole house turned into a rubble.
