Three men were killed when a motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a canter in Pehowa on Sunday night.

The deceased have been identified as Jaswant, Sandeep and Sonu, all residents of Jind.

Jaswant’s brother, whose name is also Sonu, in his police complaint, said he and seven others were returning to Jind after meeting their relatives.

Jaswant, Sandeep and Sonu were travelling on a motorcycle, while the other five, including the wives of Jaswant and Sandeep, were in a car.

As they reached near Phoolgarh village on the Pehowa-Kaithal road around 8 pm, a canter hit the motorcycle head on. All three died on the spot. They worked as plumbers. The canter driver fled, leaving the vehicle behind.

A case has been registered under Sections 279 and 304-A of the IPC at Pehowa police station. — TNS
