Three members of family die in road mishap near Rewari village

A man, his wife and their seven-year-old son were killed when the scooter they were riding on was hit by a truck loaded with cement on the Delhi-Jaipur highway near Asalwas village here on Tuesday night.

The deceased have been identified as Amit (35), Rakhi (32), and Chatra of Raghuvir Nagar in Delhi. The mishap took place when the family was on its way to Delhi from Bawal town here on a scooter.

As they passed a petrol pump near Asalwas village, a truck being driven on the wrong side of the road hit their scooter. The three died on the spot. The police, on getting information about the accident, rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to a hospital for post-mortem examinations.

“The driver of the truck reportedly lost control of the vehicle as it was overspeeding. The truck then crossed the divider, and hit the scooter. The truck driver suffered minor injuries in the accident. He fled the spot,” a source said.
