Three members of a family were killed and six others injured when an autorickshaw in which they were travelling collided with a car near Bakra Mor in the Beri area of the district on Thursday evening. The deceased have been identified as Sohan Lal, Ram Niwas and Bimla. The condition of one of the injured, who is undergoing treatment at Rohtak PGIMS, is stated to be critical.
The accident occurred when the family was returning to Jatoli village after attending a ‘tehravi’ (13th day death ritual) at Awal village in the autorickshaw. As soon as the auto reached near Bakra Mor, a speeding car coming from the opposite direction hit it.
As per reports, Sohan Lal died on the spot, while other occupants of the autorickshaw were rushed to the Beri Civil Hospital. Some of them were later referred to PGIMS Rohtak. Later, Ramniwas and Bimla succumbed to their injuries. Inspector Satish, SHO, Beri Police Station, said a case had been registered against the unidentified car driver for reckless and negligent driving.
