Tiger attacks forest guard in Rewari

A tiger that reportedly strayed into Rewari from the Sariska Tiger Reserve in Alwar (Rajasthan) three days ago attacked a forest guard of Rajasthan during a search operation at Bhatsana village of the district today.

Leopard strays into Hisar residential area

  • Wildlife officials caught a leopard that entered Rishi Nagar locality in Hisar on Sunday
  • The leopard, aged about five-six years, injured one of the team members during the seven-hour rescue operation
  • Hisar District Forest Officer Pawan Grover said the leopard was healthy and would be released in its natural habitat at the Kalesar Park, Yamunanagar

Another official accompanying the guard got unconscious during the incident. They have been admitted to the Civil Hospital. The guard, Heera Lal, received injuries in his arm.

Over 35 officials from the police and forest departments of Rajasthan and Haryana remained on their toes, with the tiger moving from one place to another under cover of darkness over the past three days.

“Heera Lal, along with other officials, was locating the tiger in mustard fields at Bhatsana village in the noon when the incident took place. The tiger fled inside the field after the attack. Drones are being used to find out its location and the search operation zone has been cordoned off,” said Deepak Patil, Deputy Conservator of Forest, Rewari.
