Panipat, August 31
The BJP has started opening offices at booth level to strengthen the party as well as to reach out to voters directly.
There are a total of 906 booths in all four constituencies and the BJP has opened 775 booth offices so far. The party would directly meet voters and party workers at these offices.
With the announcement of the Assembly polls, the electioneering is at its peak in the district. All the parties are preparing well to contest the elections. However, it is being assumed that the main contest would be seen among BJP and Congress in the Assembly polls in almost all four seats in the district.
The BJP has a good organisational set up up to booth level, but the Congress has no organisation in the state as well as in the district.
A BJP leader said though the party was going to organise big road shows and rallies in all Assembly segments in the district, the strength of the party remained booth-level management. To strengthen these, more offices were being opened at the booth level, he added. More offices will help booth incharges, booth ‘palak’ and booth-level assistants-2 (BLA-2) and other party workers organise meetings and directly connect with voters. For this purpose, the BJP has assigned duties to the booth incharges and party workersto open such offices in their respective areas.
As many as 775 booth offices of the total 906 in all four constituencies have been opened. The rest would be opened within two to three days, said Dushyant Bhatt, BJP’s district president.
“The party is very strong in all four seats — Panipat urban, Panipat rural, Israna and Samalkha — in Panipat and will win all as we have a strong organisation and all party workers are working on the ground,” Bhatt claimed.
