A 40-ft tall statue of Lord Krishna ‘Virat Swaroop, constructed of ‘Ashtadhatu’ has been installed at Jyotisar at a cost of Rs 10 crore. As per the information, the statue will be incorporated into the show.

According to the information, the statue will be unveiled on June 30, and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar are expected to unveil the statue. The foundation stone of the statue was also laid by the RSS chief and Haryana CM in 2017.

The KDB officials believe that the new show will help them in attracting more tourists and increasing the evening attraction of Kurukshetra. Lakhs of devotees and tourists reach Kurukshetra to visit various religious destinations, including Brahma Sarovar and Jyotisar, but it lacked evening attractions following which a majority of tourists left Kurukshetra by the evening. So despite a good tourist footfall, the economy has not benefited.

Kurukshetra Development Board honorary secretary Madan Mohan Chhabra said “Jyotisar is being developed at a cost of Rs 250 crore in a phased manner. We already have a light and sound show at Jyotisar. A Virat Swaroop of lord Krishna was installed and it will be unveiled on June 30, and along with the statue, a projection mapping show will be started soon. The Virat Swaroop statue will be used as a display surface for the projection mapping show. The sitting arrangement for the visitors and beautification work are being planned. The show project will cost around Rs 5 crore.”
