Yamunanagar, July 27
The Town and Country Planning Department, Yamunanagar, has begun a demolition drive for stopping construction work in unauthorised colonies of Yamunanagar district.
The teams of the department demolished damp proof courses (DPCs) and kutcha roads in three such colonies, situated at Jaroda village, Udhamgarh village and Bilaspur town of the district in the past four days.
Ashok Garg, District Town Planner (DTP), Yamunanagar, said a demolition drive was conducted in an illegal colony of Bilaspur on Friday. He said the colony was spread over 3 acres.
He further said a team of the department razed several DPCs and kutcha roads in the said colony.
Garg said a team had conducted a drive in two residential colonies at Jaroda and Udhamgarh villages that were spread over 5 acres.
“A team removed several DPCs and network of kutcha roads from two colonies situated at Jaroda and Udhamgarh villages on Wednesday,” said Garg.
He added that the drive was conducted as per the provisions of the Haryana Urban Area Development and Regulation Act 1975.
Garg said on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Captain Manoj Kumar, the drive was conducted.
He has appealed to the people that they should not invest their hard-earned money in such colonies.
“People should contact our/DTP office for any inquiry before buying any plot, so that they can avoid buying a plot in an unauthorised colony,” said the DTP.
