At the upcoming state-level Traders’ Summit scheduled for October 26 in Gurugram, the traders from across the state, under the banner of the Rashtriya Jan Udyog Vyapar Sangathan, will not only foster dialogue and develop a collaborative roadmap for the transformation of the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) sector but also discuss critical challenges facing the trade community. They will discuss the 'worsening' law and order situation in the state, which is increasingly threatening the business environment.

Gulshan Dang, state president of the Sangathan, stated this while interacting with mediapersons here on Saturday. He emphasised that the MSME and retail sectors were the backbone of the national economy, representing over 6.5 crore enterprises, contributing around 30 per cent to the GDP, and providing employment to more than 28 crore people.

“The objective is to foster a collaborative dialogue for the transformation of the MSME sector and draft a cohesive roadmap for sustainable growth. The summit will bring together a wide range of stakeholders, including administrative officers of state and central governments, political leaders from all parties, industry experts, service providers, skilling institutions, and financial partners, hence we have requested all stakeholders to contribute their insights during the summit,” he added.

Describing the deteriorating law and order situation as a major concern, Dang said almost every day, new criminal gangs, both domestic and international, are issuing threats and extortion demands to entrepreneurs and traders. “These criminal activities are damaging the business climate and will be discussed with utmost seriousness during the summit, hence this crucial issue will also be discussed prominently at the summit” he added.
