Traffic cops identify 12 black spots on NH-19 in Faridabad

A team from the traffic police department, along with road safety experts, surveyed several accident-prone areas (black spots) on National Highway 19 passing through the city and district on Tuesday.

According to a Police Department spokesperson, the survey was conducted to identify accident-prone points and was part of broader efforts to reduce accidents and improve traffic flow in the city.

The team, which included officials from the traffic police and experts such as Dr Neeraj Saini, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, and two other professors from SGT University, discussed long-term strategies to address these issues.

The police are developing a strategy to manage traffic at these critical points to ensure commuter safety and regulate traffic, particularly during peak hours when vehicle numbers are highest.

The 12 spots identified on NH 19 include Elson Chowk, Jharsentli Bridge, Kailgoan Flyover, Goodyear Chowk, JCB Chowk, Badkhal Flyover, NHPC Chowk, Bata Chowk, Anaj Mandi Cut at Ballabhgarh, Sikri Road (towards Faridabad), Sikri Road (towards Palwal) and Maujpur Toll Point. The traffic police have proposed installing CCTV cameras and increasing the number of officers at these locations to regulate traffic better.
