A four-day training workshop is being organised for 640 presiding and alternative presiding officers at Saraswati Vidya Mandir School in Jagadhari of Yamunanagar district.
District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Captain Manoj Kumar issued necessary instructions to the officers. He said it was necessary the presiding and alternative presiding officers as well as all members of the polling teams to be impartial to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of elections.
He further said during the voting process, the officers on election duty should not refrain from indulging in acts might suggest their inclination towards any candidate or political party. “One must know how to operate the EVM machine in the correct manner. Along with this, one must be aware of the technical faults in the machine so that it can be immediately repaired by an expert,” said DC Kumar.
In the workshop, the postal aallot nodal officer-cum-Chhachhrauli SDM, Rohit Kumar, gave necessary instructions to the officers for to ensure that the elections were conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
Deputy District Election Officer-cum-City Magistrate Piyush Gupta said the presiding and alternative presiding officers had the biggest responsibility of conducting voting at the polling booths in a fair and transparent manner.
