Transgender succumbs in Gurugram

Gurugram, February 28
A transgender, Meenu, shot at outside the district courts two days ago succumbed to her injuries on Friday.
The police, however, have no major lead about the unidentified assailants who attacked her.
Meenu was one the accused in a murder case of another transgender in 2018. She was headed to the court when the attack took place. The police claimed that the attack was the result of some rivalry but not a single accused had been arrested so far.
After the death of Meenu, Section 302 of the IPC has been added to the FIR.
Inspector Manoj Kumar, SHO, Shivaji Nagar police station, said she breathed her last at Medanta Hospital around 11.30 am on Friday. She was a native of Hisar, but was living as a tenant in Manesar.
“We have informed her family and the postmortem will be conducted on Saturday, after which the body will be handed over to the kin. We have got some vital clues about the accused and they will be nabbed soon,” the SHO added.
