The accused has been identified as Mohit Chadha, alias Amandeep, a resident of New Delhi. A police spokesman said in January 2024, Gopal Ram, a resident of Kheri Ramnagar, had stated in his complaint that he got in touch with Chadha through Malkhan Singh to send his nephew abroad. He said Chadha had sought Rs 15 lakh to send his nephew to Canada on a work visa. The accused demanded 50 per cent amount in advance. However, the accused failed to send both the applicants abroad and refused to return money.
