Tree plantation drive in Hisar

Hisar: Volunteers of youth red cross of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST) planted trees at Kapila Gaushala in Hisar as part of the Van Mahotsav, being celebrated by the university. Vice-Chancellor Narsi Ram Bishnoi said the volunteers planted 51 saplings of various trees in the gaushala on Monday. Club coordinator Mahavir Prasad said they would carry out the plantation drive during monsoon.

Varsity declares entrance results

Hisar: Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) has declared the results of the entrance examination held for admission to BSc Agriculture (four-year), BSc Agriculture (six-year), BSc Community Science and MSc Agriculture courses. Vice-Chancellor BR Kamboj said Rahul Jakhar topped with 88.5 marks for the BSc Agriculture course, while Ritik scored 87 marks and Deepanshu and Himansh Chawla scored 86.5 marks to secure the second and third positions, respectively. Similarly, for the BSc Agriculture course, Palak, Tanish, Sahil, Rohit, Suryanshi and Yanshu scored 91 marks and secured the first position jointly. In BSc Community Science, Khushi scored 83 marks and Chahat, Ishika and Avantika scored 82 marks, securing the first and second spots, respectively. In MSc Agriculture, Shubham scored 81 marks, Dixit scored 77 and Sania and Pooja scored 76 marks and secured first, second and third positions, respectively. Candidates can check the university websites (admissions.hau.ac.in and hau.ac.in) for the results of the examinations and the latest information related to it.

Education board announces result

Bhiwani: The Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani, announced the result of the Senior Secondary (Academic) Compartment One-Day Examination conducted in July. Overall, 50.92 per cent students passed the examination. This result can be viewed on the official website of the board (www.bseh.org.in). Board Chairman VP Yadav said 20,749 candidates had appeared in the examination, including 12,563 boys and 8,186 girls. This examination was conducted on July 3 at 75 centres across the state. Dr Yadav said the answer sheets were graded digitally. As a result of using the digital marking system, the results were declared in a record time. He said the candidates can apply online for rechecking/re-evaluation of their answer sheets along with the prescribed fee within 20 days from the date of the declaration of the result.

Two students get placements

Hisar: Two students of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology (GJUST), Hisar, have been selected in the on-campus placement drive of Gurgaon and Hisar-based Daffodil Software Private Limited. While congratulating the selected students, Vice-Chancellor Narsi Ram Bishnoi said GJUST was committed to providing a skilled workforce for the corporate world. Registrar Vinod Chhokar congratulated the selected students. Assistant Director Aditya Vir Singh said Parveen and Sahil of BTech (CSE) had been selected with at a CTC of Rs 6 LPA. The placement drive was coordinated by Saurabh Jain of BTech (CSE).

Orientation at Hisar college

Hisar: Government college, Hisar, will organise an orientation programme for the first year students at the college on Tuesday. Principal Ramesh Arya said students would be informed about the classes and extracurricular activities that would be organised in the college during the ongoing session.
