Triple-engine govt will work three times faster: CM Saini
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday led the ‘Vijay Sankalp Yatra’, a mega roadshow in support of BJP’s mayoral candidate Rajiv Jain, urging voters to ensure his victory in the upcoming civic body elections. As the procession moved through Sonepat, enthusiastic supporters welcomed the Chief Minister by showering flower petals.
Several BJP leaders, including state BJP chief Mohan Lal Badoli, MLAs Krishna Gahlawat, Nikhil Madaan, Pawan Kharkhoda, Devender Kadyan, former Cabinet minister Kavita Jain, former MLA Anil Thakkar, BJP district chief Jasbeer Dodwa, Dr Om Prakash Atreya, Yogeshpal Arora and Tarun Devidas, accompanied Saini in the roadshow.
Expressing confidence in the BJP’s stronghold in Sonepat, CM Saini said, “I have full faith in the people of Sonepat and this massive gathering reflects their trust in BJP’s policies. Rajiv Jain’s victory will break all previous records, and once again, the lotus will bloom in Sonepat.”
Reiterating the party’s commitment to development, he said, “A double-engine government is already working in the state. Once we win the civic polls, the triple-engine government will work three times faster, accelerating the development of the Sonepat Municipal Corporation area.”
He urged the public to elect Rajiv Jain as Mayor, assuring them, “Give him a massive victory and leave the responsibility of development to me.”
The Chief Minister also took a swipe at the Congress, recalling that in the last Assembly elections, voters rejected the party due to corruption concerns, ensuring a third consecutive BJP government in Haryana.
“When BJP talked about providing jobs to the youth, Congress leaders went to the Election Commission and got the recruitment stopped. But I had promised that before taking the oath, 25,000 youth would be given jobs,” Saini said. “After winning the elections, I kept my promise and provided jobs without ‘parchi’ or ‘kharchi’ (without favouritism or bribery),” he added.
The roadshow, covering approximately 12 km, began from Aggarsen Chowk and passed through Murthal Adda, Bus Stand, Geeta Bhawan Chowk, Flyover, Mission Chowk, Gur Mandi and finally ended at Khatu Shyam Temple near Kalupur Chungi. Hundreds of youth on motorcycles participated in the rally, while shopkeepers, traders and various social and religious organisations welcomed the BJP leaders by showering flower petals.
In a major political development, several Opposition leaders joined the BJP in Saini’s presence. Among them were Sheela Antil, district president of Congress’ women’s cell; AAP state spokesperson Nakin Mehra; AAP leader Satish Raj Deswal; Congress’ OBC cell member Pushpender Jogi; Suresh Tushir; former BAR secretary Virender Duhan; and Advocate Suraj Jain. INLD’s urban president and several other leaders also announced their switch to BJP.
