Two arrested for looting jeweller at gunpoint in Yamunanagar village

The police have arrested two persons, who allegedly looted a jeweller at Kot Basawa Singh village of Yamunanagar district.

The accused have been identified as Pawan, alias Shubham, of Chhappar village of Karnal district and Inayat of Kot village of Yamunanagar district.

The robbers allegedly looted 7 kg silver, 8 tola gold and Rs 5,000 cash amount from the jeweller, Jaspal, of Jagadhri at gunpoint on December 28, 2024.

Raj Kumar, incharge of the CIA-II unit, said that Jaspal of Jagadhri ran a jewellery shop in Kot Basawa Singh village, falling under the Chhachhrauli police station.

He said that four armed persons had looted a bag containing the aforesaid items from Jaspal at gunpoint.

He said on the directions of Superintendent of Police Rajiv Deswal, teams were formed to arrest the accused involved in this loot case.

He said that a team of the CIA-II had arrested Pawan and Inayat from near the forest area of Kalesar village.

He added that the accused were produced in a court in Jagadhri today and the court sent them to three-day police remand.

“Raids are being conducted to arrest the other accused involved in the loot case,” said Raj Kumar, incharge of CIA-II.
