The Special Detective Unit of the Kaithal police arrested two drug traffickers and seized 163.71 kg of ‘doda post’ along with the truck used for smuggling.
While interacting with mediapersons, Superintendent of Police Upasana said that on September 24, a team led by SI Ramesh Kumar, was on evening patrol near Narad village under Titaram police station. The team received a tip-off that a closed-body container truck was parked near an under-construction petrol pump on NH-152, with two suspects inside, preparing to head towards Ambala.
Acting on the tip-off, a raid was conducted at the spot. The two suspects were apprehended and later identified as Rajvinder Singh, alias Raja, and Kashmira Singh, both residents of Mandwal village. Ten plastic sacks containing 163.71 kg of ‘doda post’ was recovered from the truck. The accused had reportedly loaded 30 refrigerators from Pune for delivery in Ludhiana and during the journey purchased the narcotic substance from Madhya Pradesh. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth around Rs 20 lakh, the SP said.
