Two arrested with ganja in Gurugram
The police have arrested two drug peddlers and seized 5.5 kg of ganja.
On Monday, a crime branch team from Sikanderpur arrested Mohammad Kamran Qureshi, a resident of Mathwa village in East Champaran, Bihar, at the Dhamdoj toll plaza, here. He was found in possession of the narcotic substance.
Within hours of the arrest, another associate of Qureshi’s, identified as Emamullah alias Mortin alias Mota, was apprehended from Kanhai village in Gurugram. Like Qureshi, Emamullah is also from Mathwa village, East Champaran, Bihar.
Following the seizure of 5.5 kg of ganja, a criminal case was filed against the duo under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Bhondsi police station.
During questioning, the accused said they had been bringing ganja from Bihar to sell in Gurugram district. Further investigations into their operations are ongoing.
The police said Emamullah alias Mortin has previously been charged in three other NDPS cases.
