Two Kaithal cops demand bribe, suspended

SP Maqsood Ahmed has suspended ASI Mukesh Kumar, Exemptee Head Constable Mahender Singh and relieved a Home Guard, Amit Kumar, posted at the Kithana police post under the Rajound station in the district, for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh for removing the names of accused in an NDPS case.

“I have suspended two cops and a departmental probe has been initiated. The Home Guard has been relieved and a report has been sent to his department.” he said.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
