Two persons were killed when a college bus collided with a three-wheeler on the Chopta-Bhattu road near Nathusari Chopta in Sirsa district today. No injuries were reported among the 15 female students who were aboard the bus.
Upon receiving information, police from the Nathusari Chopta station arrived at the scene. Local residents working in nearby fields said the accident happened about one km away from Nathusari Chopta and the impact of the collision was such that the three-wheeler was severely damaged. The two persons sitting inside the tempo were critically injured and rushed to the Nathusari Chopta Community Health Centre. One person was pronounced dead on arrival, while the other, identified as Subhash, was referred to the Sirsa Civil Hospital. He, too, succumbed to his injuries by evening.
The bus was ferrying around 15 students from the Kurda Ram Memorial Women’s College in Jamal. These students from Makhosarani, Nehrana, Shakar Mandori and Shahpuria villages were being dropped
off to their homes after classes. The police have started an investigation in the matter.
