Two girls drown in Somb river in Yamunanagar district
Two girls drowned in Somb river near Kanalsi village in Yamunanagar district.
The bodies of the deceased, who have been identified as Ruma (21) and Anchal (17) of Kanalsi village, were recovered from the river.
According to information, three girls Ruma, Anchal and Sheetal had gone in the river area to collect wood for their kitchen on Monday morning.
On reaching home at noon, Sheetal told herfamily members that while drinking water in the river, Ruma’s foot slipped and she drowned in the river.
She said when Anchal tried to save Ruma, she also fell into the river and drowned.
Later, the bodies of the deceased were taken out from the river by the villagers.
