The Faridabad cyber police arrested two persons for online fraud. An FIR was registered in the case.
The accused were identified as Pankaj and Sonu. Both were produced in a city court and sent to judicial custody.
In his complaint, a resident of a Ballabhgarh colony said he had received a call from a person who claimed to be the head of a department of State Bank of India. He sent his ID on the complainant’s WhatsApp number, after which he told him that he had not redeemed the credit card reward points. He asked him to download an SBI app, following which Rs 1,53,332 was deducted from his account.
“The accused used to provide mobile SIM cards to cyber fraudsters to buy drugs,” said a police spokesperson.
