Ambala: The district police have arrested two persons in separate cases of liquor smuggling and claimed to have recovered 203 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession, officials said here on Saturday. The police said Naraindass of Ambala Cantonment was held with 138 bottles while Baga Baba of Ambala City was caught with 65 bottles of illicit liquor. The police have registered separate cases. TNS

Man held with heroin

The police have arrested Himmat Singh, alias Soni of Naggal, near here in a case of smuggling drugs and claimed to have recovered 15.27-gram heroin from his possession, officials said here on Saturday. The accused was remanded in one-day police custody. TNS

Proclaimed offender held

The district police have arrested a proclaimed offender Rajesh Kumar, alias Kande Baba of Kurukshetra, who was wanted in a criminal case registered against him at Baldev Nagar police station, officials said here on Saturday. The fugitive was was remanded in 14-day judicial custody. TNS
