Two Illegal colonies over 40 acres razed in Rohtak

Under its ongoing campaign, the district authorities on Wednesday demolished two illegal colonies being developed on 40 acres on the HSVP Sector 7-37 Dividing Road here.

During the drive, temporary road networks, 15 foundations, 14 constructions, sewerage lines, interlocking tile roads and electric poles were removed from both illegal colonies. Officials and staff from the District Town Planner's office, along with police forces, were present to prevent any untoward incidents.

Deputy Commissioner Dheerendra Khadgata stated that a continuous campaign was being run against illegal constructions and colonies in the controlled and urban areas of the district.

He urged citizens not to invest their savings in illegal constructions or colonies and also advised them that no buying or selling should take place in any of the illegal colonies identified by the district administration in various revenue estates.

“The demolition campaign against illegal colonies and constructions will continue in future, and no illegal constructions or colonies will be allowed to be developed in the district,” he added.

District Town Planner Sumandeep appealed to the public not to invest in illegal constructions or in colonies being illegally developed by dealers or landowners. He emphasised that the administration would take departmental action from time to time. Citizens are encouraged to visit the office on any working day to inquire before making any investments.
