Two labourers were killed and one was injured after an under-construction roof of a house collapsed in Mumidi village of Yamunanagar district.

The under-construction roof of the ground floor collapsed when the labourers were busy working on Monday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Mahesh Pandey of Yamunanagar and Devinder Kumar of Shiv Colony inYamunanagar.

In a complaint to the police, Arvind Mishra of Gandhi Nagar in Yamunanagar said he and Mahesh Pandey worked as a labourer with Dinesh, a contractor of shuttering plates.

He said lintel (concrete slab) of the house of Praveen Kumar was being put in Mumidi village on Monday evening.

He further said suddenly the under-construction roof of the house collapsed.

He added that when the under-construction roof collapsed, he, Mahesh Pandey and Devinder Kumar were standing under the roof.

He said the roof fell on them and they sustained injuries.

According to information, all three injured persons were taken to Civil Hospital, Yamunanagar, where Mahesh Pandey and Devinder Kumar died.

The complainant alleged that the incident took place due to the negligence of the contractor of shuttering plates Dinesh Kumar and mason Moti Lal.

On the complaint of Arvind Mishra, a case was registered against Dinesh Kumar and Moti Lal under Sections of the BNS at the Farakpur police station, on Monday.
