Two miscreants hurt in police encounter, held in Kurukshetra

The CIA-1 unit of Kurukshetra Police apprehended two miscreants after a brief exchange of fire late on Sunday night.

The accused were identified as Mithun and Rohit, both residents of Uttar Pradesh. During the encounter, both sustained bullet injuries in their legs and were rushed to LNJP District Civil Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

CIA-1 incharge Surender Kumar said, “Following a tip-off that two miscreants carrying weapons were present in the area, our team spotted them near Bishangarh road. They were travelling on a two-wheeler and were asked to stop. However, on seeing the police party, they opened fire. In response, the police also fired, and both sustained injuries in their legs.”

Police have recovered two weapons from their possession. The injured accused will be formally arrested after being discharged from the hospital. “Further investigation is underway,” Kumar added.
