Acting on a tip-off, the officials of the crime branch caught both chain snatchers, identified as Nitesh and Akshay. Nitesh is a Faridabad resident while Akshay hails from Delhi. During the interrogation, it was found that Akshay is a drug addict. He already has five cases registered against him under the Arms Act and mobile phone snatching incidents. Nitesh drives an auto-rickshaw.

The police produced both the accused in the court, from where they were sent to judicial custody.
