Two persons were awarded life imprisonment by Yamunanagar Sessions Judge RC Dimri for murdering a man of Jind district.
Sudhir Sindher, Deputy District Attorney said the Sessions Judge also imposed a fine of Rs 12,000 each on both convicts Sandeep Singh, alias Binni (22), of Sisar village in Jind district and Bintu (over 19) of Sisar village.
He said if Sandeep and Bintu defaulted on the fine (under Section 302 read with Section 34 of the IPC), they would further undergo simple imprisonment for a period of six months each.
He added that if they defaulted on thefine (under Section 201 read with Section 34 of the IPC), they would further undergo rigorous imprisonment of one month each.
He said the Sessions Judge delivered the decision on September 23. According to information, Gurmeet of Sisar village in Jind district worked as a labourer.
Sandeep and Bintu, took him for a ride on their truck on December 4, 2023.
On December 17, Gurmeet called his home and told the family members that Sandeep and Bintu assaulted him after drinking.
The Yamunanagar district police received information about an unidentified body found on the roadside in the Kalesar forest of the district on December 26. The family members identified the body of Gurmeet. The accused persons confessed to committing the murder and a case was registered against them under Sections 302, 201 and 34 of the IPC at Pratap Nagar police station on December 29, 2023.
