Two security guards died of suffocation caused by a poisonous gas emitted by a brazier that was kept at a company’s room in Sector 25 here on Sunday night.

According to police sources, the victims, identified as Rajender (48) and Sanjay Kumar (51), working as guards at a private firm, went to sleep in a small room with a lit brazier. Due to no ventilation, the victims were found dead in the morning.

Sanjay’s wife Vandana told the police that she had received a call around 8 am this morning that her husband had died due to unknown reasons. Holding the company management responsible for her husband’s death, she demanded a probe into the matter. She accused a company official of threatening her husband for not reporting to work on time.
