The CIA-1 unit of the Kurukshetra police has arrested two women in connection with an assault and snatching case in Shahabad.

The accused were identified as Sangita and Maninder Kaur. They were produced before a court which sent them to judicial custody.

A Kurukshetra spokesman said on March 15, Deshraj, a resident of Shahabad, in his complaint to the police stated that he was on his way in his car towards Shahabad when two women and a man sought lift from his near Nogaja Peer on the National Highway. Deshraj gave them lift, and after crossing the Markanda bridge, the male accused asked him to stop the car. As soon as he stopped, the accused started beating him, snatched Rs 4,000 from him along with his mobile phone and car’s key and managed to flee from the spot.
