The government had increased the agricultural Budget by over 15 per cent, the highest in recent years, he added. He said additionally, the credit limit for the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) had been raised from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, while ensuring that they had access to low-interest loans.

He said this would help farmers adopt modern farming techniques, purchase new agricultural equipment, increase crop production and expand storage facilities.

“The Budget also includes provisions for new warehouses and cold storage facilities, while ensuring fair prices for farmers’ produce and reducing their dependency on intermediaries. These initiatives align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to double farmers’ incomes,” said Gupta.
