Khattar takes dig at Congress for not declaring chief minister face
Union Power Minister and former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar took a dig at the ruling Congress for not declaring the chief minister face ahead of Assembly elections.
“The Congress is so panicked internally that they have not even declared a chief minister face, fearing that it will lead to their party’s collapse,” Khattar said while addressing a gathering of Prabuddh Nagrik Sammelan of Nilokheri block in Taraori on Sunday.
Khattar criticised the Congress, accusing the party of creating confusion and inciting divisions within society. He claimed that the Congress is heading towards defeat as it has failed to fulfil the promises made earlier.
The Union minister exhorted people to vote for BJP candidate Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi to bring the party into power for the third consecutive time.
Khattar also pointed out a long-standing trend in Haryana’s politics, saying, “For 76 years, the record of the Haryana Assembly shows that the party in power at the centre has always won the state elections.”
He expressed confidence that the BJP will secure its third consecutive term in Haryana, just as it did at the national level in the Lok Sabha election.
Khattar also took a jibe at the previous Congress-led government, claiming that it was not run by former PM Manmohan Singh, but by remote control. He further accused the Congress of making false promises in various states like Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana, and failing to deliver on them.
The former CM criticised Congress’s governance in states like Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, where he claimed no major promises were fulfilled.
“In Himachal, they promised to waive electricity bills, but more than half of those bills remain. This shows how the Congress makes false promises to lure people,” Khattar asserted.
Highlighting the BJP’s focus on responsible governance, he said, “Just as a family cannot function in deficit, neither can a government. When deficits grow, the social structure collapses, leading to more loans and interest payments. Haryana remains within its fiscal limits today.”
