A second “Sardar@150” unity march was organised on Saturday in Ramnagaria village to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The march was flagged off by district BJP chief Yatindra Singh at the Government Model Sanskriti Primary School.
As the procession moved forward, patriotic songs and chants of “Sardar Patel Amar Rahein” echoed through the village. Students, youth, villagers and local residents joined with enthusiasm.
Singh said Patel played a historic role in uniting independent India and keeping the nation intact. He urged people to rise above divisions of caste, region and language and work together to support the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India. He added that marches like these help strengthen national unity and inspire young people.
HARCOFED chairman Ved Phoola said Patel’s life symbolised strength, leadership and nation-building. He recalled that Patel unified 562 princely states after Independence, laying the foundation of a modern, integrated India. Phoola added that such programmes foster patriotism and encourage youth to stay away from drugs.
Former MP Sunita Duggal said Patel’s sacrifices and commitment to national interest remain a powerful example for the younger generation. She emphasised the importance of learning history and mentioned the Statue of Unity in Gujarat. She urged students to focus on unity, cleanliness, education, sports, health and a drug-free lifestyle as the pillars of a developed India.
Former district chief Shishpal Kamboj said the unity march reflected collective responsibility towards the nation. He called for the adoption of swadeshi products and support for building a self-reliant India.
