Unsafe school transportation system in Faridabad
With no standard criteria or rules in practice, a large number of school students face risk to their lives in view of an unsafe transportation system. The majority of schools do not follow any set standard rules to ensure the safety of students. Many students, who cannot afford or do not have a bus facility, are left with no choice but to use other means, which are unsafe and risky. These include auto rickshaws and vans, which are either redundant or run on CNG-fitted kits. Overloading in school vans and auto rickshaws has been a problem that continues to be overlooked. The authorities must look into the issue and take action at once. —Varun Sheokand, Faridabad
