A team of CIA-I of the Yamunanagar police has arrested a person with 552 gm smack worth nearly Rs 50 lakh.

The suspect has been identified as Inshad of Rasool Pur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district. He was on Sunday produced before a Duty Magistrate, who sent him to five days’ police custody.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said the team received information that the accused would come to Yamunanagar on a motorcycle to sell smack here, following which officials immediately laid a ‘naka’ near the Kalanaur border of Haryana and UP in Yamunanagar district and started checking vehicles.

He further said during the checking, he was caught with 552 gm smack. He said a case had been registered against him under Sections of the NDPS Act at the Sadar police station in Yamunanagar.
