The Nuh police have apprehended a Class XII student for allegedly leaking Urdu paper for the senior secondary examination at a government senior secondary school in Tapkan on Friday.
An FIR was registered against the student, his relative Mushtaq, centre supervisor Anwar Hussain, superintendent Ravindere Kumar and observer Vikram under section 8 of the Haryana Public Examination Act, section 188 (disobedience of an order duly promulgated by a public servant), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC at Nuh Sadar police station.
The 17-year-old student was let off on bail after he joined the investigation, the police said.
Sources said the student’s relative was detained, but the police did not confirm it.
Chanderbhan, SHO of Nuh Sadar police station, said: “The arrested student was let off on bail after he joined the investigation. Further, a probe is underway and the other accused will be arrested soon.”
After the question paper went viral on the social media, the Haryana School Education Board cancelled the exam at the centre.
VP Yadav, chairman of Haryana School Education Board, Bhiwani said the question paper of the Urdu examination of senior secondary conducted on Friday was made viral by someone.
Parmjit Singh, Nuh district education officer, said: “It is being ensured that such an incident does not happen again.”
